Capital Company in Claude and ChatGPT

Connect Capital Company to the assistant you already use, and ask it to set things up for you: a new fund, its investors, subscription documents, capital call notices. The assistant relays your requests to Capital Company; nothing changes your records until you confirm it.

What it can do

  • Open a workspace. Someone new can ask the assistant for a Capital Company workspace and get their account and team, then sign in from the link the login page emails them.
  • Set up a fund. Once connected, ask for a fund and the assistant walks through the same questions Capital Company asks: the manager, the vehicle, the strategy, the classes and their fees, the documents. Anything you do not say comes from your team’s usual settings and is labelled as such.
  • Invite investors, send subscription agreements, send capital call notices. Each is put to you for confirmation first, with every material detail shown.
  • Read back where things stand. The assistant can read your current conversation with Capital Company and tell you what it is waiting on.

What it never does

  • It never moves money: no wires, no transfers, no bank details taken or changed in the chat.
  • It never marks payments, reconciles, deletes funds or commitments, or changes who is on your team.
  • It never acts on a proposal you have not confirmed. Every change is shown to you first, and you say yes or no — in the chat, or on the confirmation page Capital Company links you to.
  • Capital Company refuses a message that looks like it holds a social security number, EIN or similar before recording or acting on it. What you type into Claude or ChatGPT reaches that assistant’s provider first, under its own terms, so keep such numbers out of the chat altogether.

How to connect

Claude: in claude.ai open Settings, then Connectors, then “Add custom connector”. Name it Capital Company and enter the URL below. Click Connect, sign in to Capital Company if you are not, and allow the connection. On Team and Enterprise plans an administrator can add it for the whole workspace.

ChatGPT: until Capital Company is in the plugin directory, adding it takes developer mode: in Settings, under Security and login, turn on Developer mode; then open Plugins, choose the plus button, and enter the URL below as the MCP server. Connect and allow it. Once it is listed, enabling it from the directory is one click and needs none of this.

Connecting signs you in the way you always sign in. The consent page names the assistant asking and where it will send you back. The assistant then acts only as you, on the teams you belong to, with the permissions you have.

Your data

Three parties handle what passes through the connection, and each sees something different.

  • Claude or ChatGPT, and its provider, receive everything in your chat: what you type, and everything Capital Company answers through the connector — its questions, the fund details and other records it names, the proposals it puts to you, the outcomes, and the conversation record when the assistant reads it back. That data is handled under the assistant provider’s own terms.
  • Capital Company receives the messages the assistant relays to it and the records it looks up to answer them. It keeps the record of every request, question, proposal and confirmation, as it does for conversations inside the application, for as long as the account exists, and stores only a hash of the credentials the assistant holds.
  • Capital Company’s own assistant is built on models from Anthropic and Google, under terms that keep what is sent confidential and do not allow it to be used for training. It sends them the conversation and the records it looks up, screened first for the numbers it never sends.

How to disconnect

Open your account settings in Capital Company. Connected assistants are listed there with when they were connected and last used, and a Disconnect button that ends the connection at once. You can also remove the connector on the assistant’s side.
